the summer moon lights my way

from dixie to a lake in michigan

my taste of the georgian coast draws to a close. i love living on a beach, but this is not my beach: this is their beach. it’s like gummo meets a prequel to wall-e. isn’t it great that they have a beach…

an invitation to lake house in michigan arrives with perfect timing: a couple months before hurricane matthew hits and a couple days after hurricane-boss’ wife learns he’s diddling a ginger. my the drive to lake house is pleasant and introspective. i stop in ashville. i like it there.

the cottage has been in friend’s family for a hundred years. it gets the sunsets across the lake. the setting, the company, the turtles: all a delight. a reward for the taste of a place well done
